Conversations with HerSelf- With extra characters

Because no man is an island…

The sun had bleached her colours and the storm had given her enough bruises. She looked so deflated fearful and full of agony. Hope had been preached. She had held on faith for a few years, but life was miserable. They told her to change her attitude and think positively. They told her to be motivated and that misery loves company- she was la Miserable.

Battered by life, battered by the lies that her only love preached to her- despite her loyalty, battered by the unmet expectations she had created, nada. Everything she touched became dust- that is how lost she felt. Crazy depression kicked in and she wanted to end it. After all, she never gave consent to be in this world, It all happened by grace and favour- something she truly never understood.

She desperately wanted to converse with God. Probably she would be sited, enjoying her favourite cheap Gin, laughing yet crying at the same time. Brick by brick, her walls came tumbling down- and now she was vulnerable to a world that was not her own. Her hollowness was now very evident.

‘Why would you allow me to live in such chaos? Why would you let me go through all this? Twenty-five years of my life, with no dreams to show, and no face to raise. Look at me! (Washed make-up face) They say they understand my pain, but why does it feel like they can’t feel it? They come as they leave, and leave as they come. They turn me into another failed example. Oh Lord, please take this life before I do the impossible.’

God, being good, would probably be wiping her invincible tears, because his love towards the broken people is always stronger. He would probably answer her silently, between her desolate sobbing and hopeless situations.

“Oh, Child. If you only knew how much I love you. If you could only see the stars in the dark sky. If you only knew how far I could go for you. Sorrow may come through the night, and just like the night, it shall pass. Don’t let darkness cover your eyes.

Like a distressed child, she lay on the ground of her balcony, probably waiting for vultures to feed on her. Well…. The vultures did not turn up. They probably didn’t want to look desperate for a cheap feed. After all, they are considered worthy in our ecosystem. Laying in the obsolete, was the only comfort she felt because no one could judge her.
